Soooooo I realize this is a bit over due

Well peeeps he is here. Gianni Palermo Niccoli. Sorry I have been such a slacker..... I went into hibernation and just enjoyed my little man. Well 'little' is a figure of speech really he is a big guy to most, but still feels little to me. AND BOY is he handsome:)

So I'm going to tell you my labor story... because I'm sure you're all dying to know:)

Sunday Sept 19th 11:30 pm contractions started. The bend over you bed/ on all fours breathing kind.... boy those are fun... BOOO! They were 5 to 9 mins apart and they were by far the worst pain I'd been in. ever. ever. EVER. so I thought I was good to go. WRONG.

We arrived at the hospital during a shift change so the nurse that checked me at the beginning was different then the one that sent me home. That really makes me angry because how can they possibly know if I've progressed I mean they can tell each other oh she was this big but they really should have the same person checking. Whatever. Oh and what is the magic of being dilated to a 4... why not 3, 3 is good 3 is far am I right or am I right?! The nurse was lame and sent me packing with stories of how she went into false labor too and I would realize bad contractions in a couple of days when I am really in pain. LISTEN hag just because I'm not screaming doesn't mean I'm not in excruciating pain. I could have slapped her right there, but none the less she sent me home with a pain med and a promise of them being gone after I woke up from the pain meds given. Well that would have been nice except that the pain meds did nothing. awesome. so I braved through ANOTHER ten hours of contractions still not all 5 mins apart but I would have two on top of each other. NOW that is a good time, two contractions back to back. I kept my cool for 17 hours of consistent pain, but once they started coming on top of each other I lost it. Word to the wise don't EVER EVER loose it in the middle of a contraction it will make it ten billion times worse. Finally broken and throwing up from pain my husband took me to the hospital with a promise of not letting them send us home.

Tender mercy, I was at a 4. It took me ten hours to get from a 3 to a 4. Bless my nurse she quickly got the anesthesiologist to give me the saving grace of an epidural. Whomever invented the epidural should have a guaranteed place in the celestial kingdom. I wouldn't have made it without it. I wouldn't have made it at all if I didn't live in modern times of modern medicine. That's a strange feeling. That I wouldn't have survived something that's gone on for generations. Baby making. Yet, even with all the risks women still got pregnant and wanted babies. I love it. Anyways 10 more hours without pain but constantly watching the monitor. Babies heart rate was not where they wanted it. My sweet nurse had a feeling the cord was around his neck. I got to an 8 and didn't progress for 4 hours. Luckily my nurse had started prepping me mentally for a c-section before then. I don't know why but I really didn't want one. Husband... man he is my hero. Couldn't have done it without him. He gave me a sweet blessing that instantly calmed me and I knew everything would be just fine. An hour or so later I had a perfect little angel baby boy. It was good we opted for the c-sec because he was almost 9lbs the cord was around his neck and he was turned the wrong way. I'm thankful we were able to go into the operating room calmly and with a peace of mind that everything was okay. So that my friends is my story. I didn't really realize how much of a spiritual experience it would be. It is an amazing thing. The baby actually coming... not the 30 hours of labor

I love the saying I've heard mothers tell their children.... You'll never know how much I love you until you have children of your own. I totally get it now. I can't even explain it. LOVE IT!!! So now if you have gone through the novel you def want some pics. Here he is. Gianni Palermo Niccoli's official debut.....
